Blip privacy policy (draft for the beta)
Blip is a browser extension that tells you whether a Solana memecoin exists for the content you're viewing. It shows information only and never gives buy or sell advice.
What Blip sends, and when
Blip only sends content when you ask it to, or when you've turned on auto-scan.
| Feature | When it runs | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| Auto-scan on X | Only after you turn it on, and only on x.com | For each post on your screen: the post's text, image links, post ID, author handle and time |
| Auto-scan on other sites | Only on sites you switch on (Chrome asks you to allow each one) | For each post or message on your screen on that site: its text, images and links |
| "Every website" (beta only) | Only after you switch it on and Chrome asks you to allow all sites | The above on every supported site, plus large images on any page you view, and — on pages that are articles — the page address (without its query string), title and main text. Never on email, banking, payment, sign-in or document pages, or any page with a password box |
| Right-click → Find coins | When you click it | The image or the text you selected |
| Scan this page | When you click it | The page address, title, main text and preview image |
| Is it real? | When a card opens (main coin) or you click Is it real? | Only the coin's contract address. Blip's server then reads that coin's own public links and on-chain data |
| Launch a coin | When you click Launch on a post, image or page | That post's text, images and address, to fill in the launch window (name ideas, image, links) |
| Website demo | When you press Scan on the website | What you entered (image, phrase or X link). Your IP address is used, in scrambled form, only to count your free daily scans; if a human check is shown, Cloudflare Turnstile processes your browser details to stop bots |
Blip does not collect your browsing history, read sites you haven't switched on, read account settings or anything that isn't on your screen, or use cookies for tracking. Note that switching on a chat site (Telegram Web, Discord) means the messages you scroll past there are checked too.
What the server keeps
- A short-lived cache of results (minutes) so the same post isn't checked twice.
- For the AI check: the verdict for each post-and-coin pair, for up to 7 days.
- Basic request logs for security and rate limiting (IP address or a random install ID), kept for up to 30 days.
We don't keep copies of post text or images beyond this caching, and we don't sell data or use it for advertising or to train AI models.
Who processes data
- Blip's servers: matching.
- Anthropic (Claude): if the AI check is on, the content being checked and candidate coin details are sent to Anthropic's API to confirm matches. Anthropic doesn't train on API data.
- Market data providers (DexScreener, Helius): they receive coin addresses only, never your content.
- "Is it real?" checks: Anthropic reads the coin's public description and the pages it links to; a Solana RPC provider and RDAP (public domain records) receive the coin's address and website domain. None of your content is sent.
- When you launch a coin: Anthropic suggests names from the post; Pinata (IPFS storage) receives the coin's image and details; PumpPortal receives your public wallet address and the coin details to build the transaction; a Solana RPC provider receives the signed transaction.
Launching a coin
When you launch a coin from Blip, the launch window (a page on Blip's website) connects to your own wallet (Phantom, Solflare or similar). Blip never sees, stores or asks for your private keys or seed phrase. What happens:
- Your public wallet address and the coin details you entered are sent to Blip's server to build the launch transaction.
- The coin's image, name, ticker, description and links are published permanently and publicly: they are uploaded to IPFS (through Pinata) and recorded on the Solana blockchain. They can't be deleted afterwards.
- The transaction is built by PumpPortal (a pump.fun service), signed in your wallet only after you approve it there, and sent to the Solana network through an RPC provider.
- We keep a count of launches and the coin address and transaction in our server logs (up to 30 days).
Coins are public: anyone can see which wallet launched a coin.
Wallets on the website
If you connect a wallet on the website to unlock holder features, we store your public wallet address and token balance. Connecting for that asks you to sign a message, never a transaction. The extension itself never connects to your wallet.
Your choices
Turn auto-scan off any time from the toolbar button. Uninstalling removes all of the extension's local data. To ask us to delete server-side data, contact [CONTACT EMAIL].
